Dave Belote is running for State Senate to spur economic growth, ensure access to quality education across the Commonwealth, and support our veterans and military. He resides in Virginia Beach with his wife of twenty-eight years, Pam. They have three grown sons.
The son of a retired Department of the Navy civilian and a registered nurse, Dave was born in Norfolk and raised in Virginia Beach. He graduated from Kempsville High School and the University of Virginia before enrolling in Officer Training School.
DECORATED FIGHTER PILOT
Dave spent 24 years in the United States Air Force, where he rose to the rank of colonel. After commanding combat operations in Iraq and a leadership tour in the Pentagon, he completed his career as base commander at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, overseeing a 3,600-person organization with a $600 million budget. Dave was awarded the Defense Superior Service Medal, two Legions of Merit, and two Bronze Stars for his service.
After retiring from the military, Dave wrote energy policy for the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense, then was vice president of a Virginia-based wind and solar developer. Now, Dave assists businesses with energy projects that relate to national security and the military.
